CAGED CAT / LEGAL
Terms
The rules for buying tickets to Caged Cat Comedy shows: prices and fees, holds during checkout, coupons, free tickets, QR tickets and admission, refunds and cancellations. For questions about an existing order, email hello@cagedcatcomedy.com.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and your purchase of tickets to live comedy shows presented or promoted by Caged Cat Comedy (“Caged Cat”, “we”, “us”), Austin, Texas, USA. Our shows take place in Texas, mainly in Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
By placing an order you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not buy tickets through this site.
We sell tickets directly: we are the seller of record and payments are processed on our behalf by Stripe. We are not a marketplace and do not resell tickets issued by anyone else.
2. Placing an order
You buy as a guest: no account is required. We ask for your name and email address so we can issue your tickets and contact you about the order. You are responsible for entering a working email address; your tickets and every notice about your order are sent there.
Each show sets a maximum number of tickets per order (normally 8) and may limit how many of a given ticket type one person can buy. Prices and availability are always confirmed by our server when you place the order; what your browser displayed earlier is not binding if it has changed in the meantime. If the total changes between the time you select tickets and the time you check out, we show you the new total and ask you to confirm again before anything is charged.
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. Shows may carry a stricter age restriction (see section 7).
3. Ticket holds during checkout
When you start a paid checkout we hold your tickets for 30 minutes while you pay on Stripe’s secure page. If payment is not completed within that time, the hold is released and the tickets go back on sale; no charge is made. If you cancel the payment page, the hold is released right away. A payment that completes after the hold has lapsed is still honored if the tickets are still available; if they are not, we refund it automatically in full.
Free orders need no payment and are confirmed instantly, without a hold.
4. Prices, fees and taxes
All prices are in US dollars. Prices shown include the per-ticket service fee. The service fee is $1.00 per paid ticket. Texas state and local sales tax of 8.25% is added on the ticket price plus the service fee and is itemized in the order summary before you pay.
Free tickets carry no service fee or sales tax. Tickets with a list price of $0, and orders whose total is reduced to $0 by a coupon, are issued at no charge.
The amount charged to your card is exactly the total shown in the order summary. We do not add any other fees after checkout. Sales tax is collected and remitted by Caged Cat Comedy.
5. Coupons and offers
We may run promotions such as discount codes or “buy one, get one” offers. Offers that need no code are applied automatically to the eligible tickets in your order. Discount codes are entered during checkout.
- Only one code can be used per order. A code is applied to the eligible ticket types only.
- Codes and offers can be limited by number of uses, by uses per buyer (based on the email address on the order), by ticket type, by show or date, and by time. A code that has reached any limit is rejected.
- A promotion cannot be combined with another promotion on the same ticket, and a code does not apply to tickets you already received free of charge.
- We may pause or withdraw a promotion at any time. Orders that have already been completed keep the price they were charged.
- Promotions have no cash value and are not transferable.
- Repeated attempts to guess codes are blocked automatically.
6. Free tickets
Some shows offer a limited number of free tickets. Free tickets are limited per person (by the email address on the order) and per order, and are issued until the allotment runs out. A free ticket is a reservation, not a sale: we may cancel a free order if we have reason to believe it was obtained by automated means or in breach of these Terms, and free tickets are cancelled, not refunded, if a show is cancelled. Seating and admission rules at the venue apply to free tickets in the same way as to paid ones.
7. Your tickets, admission and age restrictions
After a successful order we email you a confirmation with one QR code per ticket and a private link to your order page, where the same codes can be shown or printed. Each QR code admits one person and is valid once: the first time it is scanned at the door it is marked as used and it will not work again. Keep your codes private. Do not post screenshots of them; whoever presents a code first will be admitted.
Tickets are not registered to a name and are not transferable except by forwarding your confirmation email or order link to the person who will attend. If you do so, you remain responsible for the order and for that person’s compliance with these Terms. Anyone attending must bring a valid ID when the show has an age restriction.
Most of our shows are 18+ and some are 21+. The restriction is displayed on each show page before you buy. Attendees who cannot prove they meet the restriction will be denied entry and the ticket will not be refunded.
Admission is subject to the rules of the venue. The venue and Caged Cat reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person for disruptive, unsafe or unlawful behavior, intoxication, recording the performance without permission, or a breach of these Terms or of venue policies, in each case without a refund. Shows often start on time and latecomers may be seated at the venue’s discretion.
If you cannot find your confirmation email, use the resend tickets page or email us.
8. No resale, no automated purchasing
Tickets are sold for personal use. You may not resell tickets, offer them for sale above face value, or use them for advertising, promotions, contests or sweepstakes without our written permission. You may not use bots, scripts or multiple identities to buy tickets, bypass purchase limits, or hold inventory. We may cancel orders that breach this section and refund only what the law requires.
9. Refunds, cancellations and changes
All sales are final unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, inability to attend, late arrival, denied entry under section 7, or dissatisfaction with the performance.
Cancelled show. If we cancel a show date, every paid order for that date is refunded in full, including the service fee and sales tax, to the original payment method. Refunds are issued through Stripe and usually appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days. Free tickets for a cancelled date are cancelled and are no longer valid. We notify you by email at the address on your order.
Rescheduled show. If a show date moves, your tickets remain valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, email us within 14 days of our announcement and we will refund your order in full.
Lineup changes. Comedians are subject to change. A change to the announced lineup, host, running time or supporting acts does not entitle you to a refund, unless the headliner of a show sold on that headliner’s name is replaced, in which case we offer a full refund on request.
Partial refunds and disputes. We issue refunds for whole orders only. If a refund is made by our payment provider or by your bank outside this process, the tickets in that order become invalid. If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before disputing it with your bank; a chargeback on a valid order may void the tickets.
This refund policy may be refined by Caged Cat before launch; the version published on this page at the time of your order is the one that applies to it.
10. Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failure to hold a show, or for delays or changes, caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, public health orders, acts of government, civil unrest, strikes, utility or venue failures, illness or unavailability of a performer, or travel disruption. In such cases we will either reschedule the show (section 9) or cancel it and refund paid orders in full. That refund is your sole remedy.
11. Your conduct and recording
You agree to follow venue rules and staff instructions. Unauthorized audio or video recording of a performance is prohibited; venues may require phones to be put away or sealed. By attending you consent to being photographed or recorded as part of the audience and to that footage being used by Caged Cat and the performers for promotional purposes, without compensation. Comedy may include adult language and themes.
12. Using this website
You may use this site to browse shows and buy tickets for personal use. You may not interfere with the site, probe or attack its security, scrape it at scale, or submit false information. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated traffic and we limit the number of attempts to check out, apply codes or request resent tickets from one network address. The site, its design and content are owned by Caged Cat or its licensors. Show images and names belong to their respective owners.
13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site and our ticketing service are provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, travel, lodging or other expenses you incur in connection with a show. Our total liability to you for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Texas law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
Each venue is responsible for its premises. Attend at your own risk and take reasonable care of your personal belongings.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Please contact us first: most issues are resolved with one email.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
